Cool Communities / Living Economies: Ten Years to a Green Economy

Cool Communities/ Living Economies 3:

Ten Years to a Green Economy

Climate change, fuel and food costs, economic disarray…. These crises are bringing people together with new conviction and curiosity to explore breakthrough strategies for environmental and economic well-being. Sustainable Hudson Valley’s mission is to help communities secure high quality of life in a low-carbon economy. Our third annual conference reports on progress, partnerships and emerging opportunities in the “global cooling” movement and in green development for the region. The conference addresses two aspects of green development: new building, energy and infrastructure technologies, and a return to local self-reliance to meet basic needs and care for our resources. We'll explore Nobel Laureate Al Gore's challenge to America, to mobilize for a ten-year economic transformation as if our lives depended on it - which they do.
