Energy-efficiency is a $4 trillion dollar industry nationwide, with job opportunities ranging from electrical and mechanigal engineering to materials science, to the installation and maintenance of specific technologies, and trade/ craft jobs in building assessment and upgrades, including lighting changeouts, insulation application, window replacement, air sealing and more.

 

Building energy-efficiency trade opportunities are expanding with the implementation of Green Jobs/ Green New York, a new state program to offer free or low-cost home and business energy analysis and upgrades to income-qualifying New Yorkers.

 

Training in the key trades of Building Analyst, Building Envelope Technician, Heating and Cooling Technician, are provided by Hudson Valley Community College's Center for Energy Efficiency and Building Science at approved locations statewide, including SUNY Ulster on behalf of the CETT Consortium.
