As a result of discrepancies in flood insurance maps, Senators Charles
Schumer and Jeff Bingaman of New Mexico have urged the Government
Accountability Office to pursue an investigation of the Federal
Emergency Management Agency's method and policies for upgrading flood
maps and designating new flood zones.
